Our fire risk assessors, engineers, and technicians range from ex fire service personnel with over 60 years of collective operational firefighting experience to Graduate students. All staff are fully trained by the UK’s leading safety bodies.

Jim Wotherspoon
Jim is a Director and shareholder in the Firelink Group. Jim has run several successful companies over a 30-year period and brings a vast experience in sales, marketing and operations.
John Teevan
John studied Building Surveying for 4 years at Glasgow Caledonian University. John brings experience from working with several surveying firms and more recently has gained over 5 years’ experience in Project Management and Property Maintenance. John oversees all elements of Project Management and works with clients to ensure packages are bespoke and meets their needs.
Brian Byrne
Brian served with the Fire service for 30 years, Initially with Strathclyde Fire and Rescue service, and then with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service from 2013 until 2021, in various operational firefighting and training roles, latterly gaining qualifications in Legislative Fire Safety and Fire Risk Assessment. Prior to retiring in February 2021, he served as a senior officer in Fire Safety Enforcement within a Local Senior Officer (LSO) Area. He was responsible for overseeing the continual improvement and maintenance of fire safety standards within relevant premises in the LSO Area, providing appropriate guidance, and assisting Duty Holders to achieve legislative compliance with The Fire (Scotland) Act 2005.
Gerard McManus
Gerard served for 25 years with the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service and Strathclyde Fire & Rescue. He brings a long operational experience together with knowledge of Fire Safety regulations. As a Fire Safety Enforcement Officer, he formed part of the regulation team which oversaw the Olympic Games in 2012 and Commonwealth Games in 2014. Gerard holds several fire safety qualifications and has great vocational experience derived from both his work with the Fire Service and private practice.
